Black and White Street Portraits

All of these black and white street portraits are shot with Fujifilm x100f, Fujifilm X-T3 (my favorite) & Ricoh GR II. These two cameras are perfect for black and white portrait photography. Most of these b&w portraits aren’t candid, which means I usually ask before I take the portrait.

P.S. If you want to improve your portrait photography using natural light, then this Skillshare Course is a must-watch.

I’m @trovatten on Instagram.

street photography tips and tricks
Before I took this black & white portrait of this guy you see above, the man in the right handed him some money. I asked, “could you please do that again?” and he did and I took the shot.

These are some of my best black and white portraits. Ever since I picked up my camera for street photography, I was instantly drawn to doing b&w and noir street portraits.

My favorite cameras for Black & White Portraits

If you want, you can read more about my small and amazing Fuji camera I use for street portraits. The two primary cameras I use, are Fuji and the Ricoh GR II Digital for all my black and white and monochrome portrait photography and the ones in colors.

I also featured some of my favorite travel cameras and the most affordable cameras.
