Now you can add Music to your Instagram Stories

This is a chapter from my Photographer’s Guide to Marketing.

Today, Instagram just launched music in Instagram Stories.

This Music feature for Instagram is currently available in ‘Selected countries’.

It’s pretty simple.

  • Open Instagram.
  • Drag the sticker “music” to your Instagram post
  • Select the song or the background music for your stories.

You will be able to crop the songs and pick the perfect part for your Instagram Story. At Facebook’s latest conference they should how to add Spotify links to your stories. This method is different and it lets you actually play the song in the background of your Instagram Stories.

Does the music come from Apple Music or Spotify?

Nope. When you add music to your Instagram Stories, it from Facebook’s deal with major record labels.

Long time I ago, I was confused why Instagram and Spotify didn’t collaborate to add music to Instagram. It would benefit the user, Instagram, and Spotify.

But now you can and without having any copyright issues.

I’d look forward to mixing up my Instagram Story with this new feature! I just hope they have all the songs I like1
