Hi, I’m Frederik

Before becoming a photographer, I spent 17 years as a digital marketer - helping startups, international companies, and artists grow their audience.

Then I picked up a camera.

I wasn’t good. Most of my photos didn’t work.
But every now and then, I took a photograph I knew someone would care about - if only they saw it.

I couldn’t stand the thought that the only reason they didn’t -
It was because they hadn’t seen my work.

So I took what my career in digital marketing had taught me, and relentlessly applied it to my photography.

Fast forward — my photographs have been exhibited in museums, featured in National Geographic, and I’ve shot campaigns for Facebook, Burger King, and Coca-Cola.

Not because I was the most talented.
But because I learned how to make my work seen.

And that’s what most photographers struggle with.

Why I built Underexposed

Photographers don’t fail because of a lack of talent.
They fail because no one sees their work.

Most marketing courses don’t help.
They’re made for influencers and businesses — not photographers building a career with images.

Underexposed is different.
It’s my playbook.
The same steps I used to get my work seen.
And I keep updating it as I learn.

This isn’t theory.
It’s marketing photographers can actually use.

Underexposed

Underexposed is a marketing and social media course built exclusively for photographers.

Through short, no-fluff video lessons, you’ll learn how to build an audience, get real visibility for your work, and grow step-by-step — one focused task at a time.

What to expecT

This course is stripped down to what truly matters.

Instead of the usual surface-level tips like “post 3 times a week” or “use hashtags”, I’ll share with you everything I’ve learned in my 17 years of digital marketing experience and how I adapted it to my career in photography.

Your advice was spot on, Frederik.
Let me know when you’re in the bay area next time.
