Commercial street photographer
I’m Frederik Trovatten, an award-winning documentary, and street photographer. See my work and feel free to reach out here.
My photography (this Day of the Dead series) is currently being exhibited at the Museum of World Culture and I’ve previously done global photography campaigns for brands such as Facebook, Burger King and many more.
My last commercial project won Burger King two Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
How I do street photography in a commercial setting
Commercial street photography is gaining popularity from brands and organisations seeking a candid look for their photography campaigns, instead of this polished look that we have become used to seeing.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I just finished an extensive street photography shoot for Burger King. The campaign itself was awarded 2 Lions and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
How I work
If you’re an agency or a brand looking to hire a photographer, I’d recommend you reach out to me on Instagram with your idea or brief.
From there, and after our initial conversation I will create a pitch based on the brief and we will
Can you travel for work?
Sure, no problem. For the right campaign, I’m flexible in terms of travel. Previous campaigns include commissioned photo jobs in New York and LA and Latin America.
What is commercial street photography?
While street photography in itself is often portrayed as candid photography, I will need to bend the rules a bit in order to fit it within the brand’s guidelines and products. This also means that we’ll fit the brand within the laws and guidelines of doing public photography.
This means I’ll usually walk the streets with my camera looking for organic situations and fit the product/brand within this context. I usually work with a producer who can help with casting if needed and contracts.
